The Caves of Gunung Api

This cave mapping project was undertaken as part of a project to collect information on the caves of Sarawak.

I have been involved in drawing cave maps for many years using different techniques from manual drafting to CAD but have now settled on Therion as the best choice of software.

I produced a few small cave maps when first learning Therion but took on the challenge of redrawing all the Mulu maps in 2007. This huge task has consumed hundreds of hours of my time and many hours of assistance from other members of the Mulu Caves Project who did the original exploration and surveying of the caves of Mulu.

To date, I have drawn or redrawn over 150 kms of cave in plan view. The section and elevation work is in process.

I will post some samples here as and when I have completed the final draft. Copies of completed surveys will be available in due course from the Mulu Caves Project.
