The participants of the reconnaissance project were:
- Dr. Helmut Steiner, Hanau/Germany. Zoologist and cave fauna expert. Numerous speleological projects to SE Asia, especially to Laos.
- Mr. Michael Laumanns, Berlin/Germany. Numerous speleological projects to Africa, SE Asia and the Middle East. Publishes the speleological series "Berliner Hoehlenkundliche Berichte", which cover expedition reports as well as country compilations. Former president of the German Speleological Federation.
- Mr Dave Clucas, a speleologist and cave mapping specialist from Malaysia.
The project was entirely financed by private resources (travel, accommodation, supply, equipment, report). Fees for guides were also financed by the participants.
