Robbie Shone

Born in 1980 in Cheshire Robbie attained a BA Honors Degree in 2002 in Art & Design/Photography at Sheffield.

Currently working in Industrial Roped Access he has been caving for 5 years both in the UK and abroad, specialising in the Peak District where he has been involved in several digs leading to substantial new cave.

He was a team member in the excavation/engineering and photography of a 46 metre deep entrance shaft from the surface, to gain access into the UK’s largest underground pitch; ‘Titan’, Castleton (141.5m).

Benarat

Api ChamberIn 2003 he took part in a 12 man joint British/Malaysian expedition to Benarat in Mulu, Sarawak. During Jan/Feb 03, they discovered, explored and photographed over 22km of cave passage in both Gunung Benerat and Gunung Api, based at camp 5 for four weeks. He returned with the 2005 expedition when they discovered a further 25km including Api Chamber, the eight largest chamber in the world.

Photography plays a large part in his caving. Both he and Andy Eavis carried out the majority of the photography in Mulu
