Dave Nixon

Born in Derbyshire in 1967 he has focused his underground research with great success within a small area of the UK. Consequently gathering a vast amount of expertise on all aspects of cave exploration especially working at height, rigging, surveying and underground engineering.

Dave's achievements are many. As a team leader he has been involved in the research and exploration of over 4km of hitherto unknown cave within the Peak District over an 18 year period.

His succeses include the discovery and ascent of TITAN the largest natural chamber/pitch in the U.K. at 144.5m (474 ft) high, White River Series Peak Cavern, JH - Speedwell Cavern, Far Sump Extension connection and Sidetrack Cave.

Dave's most recent accomplishment was being one of the two man team to discover Fire (Api) Chamber (shown right), the 8th largest chamber in the world, part of the greatly extended Clearwater system, Gunung Mulu national park.
