The 2009 expedition took place from 12th January to 12th March. An advance team travelled to Malaysia a few days before the main team to procure provisions for the first month in the field.
The provisions were airfreighted to Mulu and stored at the Park headquarters. The first contingent of the main team followed on 16th January, stayed overnight in Miri and flew on to Mulu the following day.
The first team returned to Miri mid-February to meet the second team for celebrations before returning home/ The second team returned to the Park HQ with fresh supplies where they spent two days acclimatising before walking to Camp 5 to continue the work.
